House rules
THE GAME
Team formation
Players can compete individually or in teams. A typical team consists of 2-6 players.
Turns and frames
Each player takes turns rolling the ball down the lane. A game consists of ten frames per player or team. In each frame, the player has two opportunities to knock down all ten pins.
THE RULES
Scoring
Strike: Knocking down all ten pins with the first ball. The score for the frame is ten plus the total of the next two rolls.
Spare: Knocking down all ten pins with two balls. The score for the frame is ten plus the number of pins knocked down with the next ball.
Open frame: If fewer than ten pins are knocked down after two balls, the score for that frame is the total number of pins knocked down.
Score: Our bowling technology does all this for you and shows the scores on the screen above your lane.
Final frame
In the tenth frame, if a player rolls a strike or spare, they are awarded additional rolls to complete their score for the frame. A strike earns two extra rolls, and a spare earns one extra roll.
Foul line
Players must stay behind the foul line when bowling. Crossing the line results in a foul, and no pins knocked down on that roll are counted.
Etiquette
- Wait for your turn and avoid distracting other players.
- Respect the equipment and keep the lanes clean.
- Cheer for your fellow players and maintain a friendly, competitive spirit.
BALL CHOICE
Always use the appropriate bowling ball weight for your strength and skill level to avoid injury.
WINNING
ENDING
The game ends once all players have completed all of their bowls (10 frames). The player with the highest total score is then crowned the winner.
